Screw-Lock Wire Thread Insert
-- Steady & Reliable Manufacturer --
Product Overview
The screw-lock wire thread insert is the self-locking version of our standard coil insert: a short section of the coil is deliberately deformed into an elliptical shape so it grips the mating bolt thread once installed, adding resistance to vibration-induced loosening without a separate thread-locking adhesive. It is produced to NASM8846 Type II / MIL-I-45914 tolerances and installs with the same tooling used for our free-running coil inserts.
We supply it to buyers building assemblies that see continuous vibration or shock loading, such as engine accessories, suspension components and machine tool assemblies, where a loose fastener is not an acceptable outcome and a bonded thread locker is not practical to apply or inspect on every joint.

Application Fields
- ✓Engine accessory brackets and covers
- ✓Suspension and chassis fasteners
- ✓Machine tool and spindle housings
- ✓HVAC and compressor assemblies
- ✓Off-road and agricultural equipment
- ✓Wind turbine and rotating machinery housings
Key Advantages
- Removes the need for a separate thread-locking compound, which keeps assembly and later rework simpler.
- Mechanical locking action stays effective across temperature swings that can weaken adhesive-based thread lockers over time.
- Uses the same installation tooling as our free-running coil inserts, so no new equipment is needed on the line.
- Meets NASM8846 prevailing-torque requirements, giving a verifiable, testable locking performance for quality sign-off.
- Reworkable joint design, since the locking section can be replaced if the insert is removed for service.
