Tangless Insert (No-Tang Wire Thread Insert)
-- Steady & Reliable Manufacturer --
Product Overview
The tangless insert removes the break-off tang used on standard coil inserts, replacing it with a notched top coil that is engaged and released by a matching installation tool in a single operation. Because there is no tang to snap off and no loose tang to retrieve afterward, this insert is specified in assemblies where foreign object debris (FOD) cannot be tolerated.
We supply tangless inserts to aerospace, defense and precision machinery buyers who require full material traceability, together with the matching installation and removal tools used to seat and, if needed, extract the insert.

Application Fields
- ✓Aerospace engine and airframe assemblies
- ✓Turbine housings and hot-section components
- ✓Satellite and defense electronics enclosures
- ✓Precision instrument and optical housings
- ✓Hydraulic and fuel system components
- ✓Blind-hole or confined-access assemblies where FOD control is critical
Key Advantages
- No tang break-off step, which removes the FOD risk created by a loose tang fragment after installation.
- Combined installation and removal tool seats the insert in a single pass, cutting installation time versus tang-style parts.
- Suited to blind holes and confined-access locations where retrieving a broken tang would be difficult or impossible.
- High-temperature alloy options (A286, Inconel X-750) extend service life in hot-section and exhaust-adjacent assemblies.
- Consistent, repeatable removal force reduces the risk of damaging the surrounding parent material during rework.
