Key-Locking Insert (Keensert-Style)
-- Steady & Reliable Manufacturer --
Product Overview
This key-locking insert is a solid, thin-wall bushing with external locking keys, rather than a coiled wire, and is intended for holes where a wire thread insert cannot provide enough pull-out or torque-out resistance. After the hole is tapped and a keyway is cut, the insert is driven in and the keys are staked into the keyway slots with a matching installation tool, locking it mechanically against rotation and back-out.
We supply this insert to buyers repairing or reinforcing threads in soft or thin-wall castings, such as aluminum, magnesium and zinc housings, where repeated bolt removal and reinstallation would otherwise wear out the parent thread.

Application Fields
- ✓Aluminum and magnesium engine and gearbox housings
- ✓Thin-wall die-cast components
- ✓Repeated-disassembly maintenance points (access panels, service covers)
- ✓Mold and tooling repair in soft base metals
- ✓Aerospace structural fittings requiring high pull-out strength
- ✓General thread reinforcement in low-strength base materials
Key Advantages
- Mechanical key-locking resists rotation and pull-out better than a coil insert in soft base metals.
- Rated for repeated bolt removal and reinstallation without progressively wearing out the parent thread.
- Solid bushing wall spreads clamp load over a larger bearing area than a wire coil can.
- Suited to structural or safety-critical joints where a coil insert's holding strength would be marginal.
- Compatible with a dedicated installation tool for consistent key-staking depth from unit to unit.
